Scala Sound Trek – Schedule

After the success of the first edition, Sound-Trek returns, the Scala summer music festival. From the combination of the terms “sound” (sound), nature, the word, a musical instrument and “trek” (hiking in the mountains) to replace “track” as a musical track, footprint. The festival, a mini-festival that kicks off on Saturday 20 July and will end on 15 September, which enjoys the support of the Municipality of Scala, will see established musicians on the national scene as protagonists. The aim of the event, with the artistic direction of M ° Lorenzo Apicella, is to combine music with excursions in the many and suggestive places that make Scala a treasure chest of precious treasures. From the wonderful piazzetta San Lorenzo, to the belvedere of the Torre dello Ziro, to the lush Valle delle Ferriere, to the evocative ruins of the Basilica of Sant’Eustachio, to rediscover and renew the traces of our land. News of 2019 will be the Santa Maria dei Monti event on August 4th with the “History” and “Junior” sections. The first involves two events that have the intent to re-read, under the artistic form of the “tale in music”, the life of historical characters of Scala; the Blessed Gerardo Sasso founder of the Order of the Knights Hospitallers of Jerusalem and Saint Alfonso Maria de ‘Liguori who spent some fundamental stages of his life in Scala and here he founded the Order of Redemptorists. The “Junior” section, on the other hand, will see workshops and shows with themes related to the youngest: stories like the Little Prince or the Peanuts that have been successful among the little ones and, perhaps even more, have captured the attention of an adult audience. The boys who will participate in the workshops will then become protagonists of the shows-concerts that will be carried out; all this is made possible thanks to the involvement of various organizations active in the area, including associations, the “New Directions” dance school and Anspi theater workshops. The “active” participation of the new generation has the intent to intrigue and sensitize the younger generations to the various forms of art, in the hope that this experience will become passion and deepening.
